The brief
Spooky Springs is the Village of Palm Springs’ Halloween night for local families: trunk-or-treat, costumes, a program on the stage, and a movie shown outdoors on the grounds. The 2026 event took place on Saturday, October 24.
That meant two very different audiences on the same grounds at the same time: families gathered in front of the stage, and spectators settled in to watch a film. Each needed clear sound, and neither could drown out the other.
What we provided
Primestar Digital Network was contracted to provide a dual-zone P.A. system, covering sound reinforcement for both the stage and the movie area.
- Stage zone. An RCF system with full-range loudspeakers and subwoofers, covering the stage program and the families in front of it.
- Movie zone. A similar, dedicated system for the movie area, so that spectators could hear the movie loud and clear.
Why two zones
Running everything through one stage system works when there is one audience. At Spooky Springs there were two. Giving the movie area its own system meant the film’s sound came from where people were watching, at a level set for them, while the stage program ran on its own. Each audience got the sound meant for it.
A returning client
Spooky Springs follows our work on the Village’s 4th of July 2026 celebration, where we provided crewing and a distributed audio system across the Municipal Complex for America’s 250th Anniversary.
What it means for similar events
Movie nights, fall festivals, holiday events, and concerts in the park often have more than one thing happening at once. We plan the sound around where people actually stand and sit, and give each area its own coverage when it needs it, with one point of contact for the whole job.
